HL Rebels at AWAKENINGS

AMSTERDAM - Last weekend, for the second year in a row, HoodLamb Rebel Sound System camped out at the AWAKENINGS festival. Our new chill-out zone next to the beach was according Amsterdam radio station 3VOOR12 one of the most happening spots this year. Lady Liz’s peaceful mix of Roots Reggae and Michael Jackson enthused the crowd to literally bounce for hours. Later Dubstep colossal G-man aka Gomes & Vader (Senior Productions/Oi!) took over the mothership with some serious bass!! At dusk, DJ Bong Vader and his storm troopers were sent out in the Darkstar vehicle on a special mission… if you missed out, don’t worry. In the name of the ‘DarkStar’ he’ll be back with more…

EVIDENCE of Hemp

AMSTERDAM – Underground LA hip-hopper EVIDENCE (from the Dilated Peoples) was recently on the road through Europe to promote his latest solo release, The Layover EP (2008). HoodLamb had the honor to dress him for his performance at club BitterZoet in Amsterdam. Check out EVIDENCE in the ‘Trust’ t-shirt, and special guest FASHAWN in the “Bearded’ Tee. Top that off with a ‘MAC’ cap and you’ll be amazed how fly hemp can be!

Hemp HoodLamb at the THC Expo in L.A.

Adam and Doug, founders and owners of Hemp Works, just got back from the THC Expo in L.A. A new trade show to showcase the beneficial aspects of Cannabis and many products made from Hemp. Hemp HoodLamb had a booth in the Hemp Pavilion, which highlighted the many qualities of Hemp, environmentally and industrially. It was also Adams 40th Birthday (Congratulations Adam!!) celebrated with great friends and family. Check out the photos!

It was great to meet up with so many new and old friends and see the whole pro-cannabis movement in the States is stronger then ever. The medicinal values of Cannabis and the many, many beneficial aspects of Hemp for food, clothing and fuel are becoming more and more recognized. Finally the skepticism towards hemp is wearing off and the media and governments are approaching hemp from a positive view point!

 

WHALE WARS!!

AMSTERDAM - Today we all got a bit hero-strucked when compassionate eco-pirate Laurens de Groot from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and reality show Whale Wars on Discovery Channel, made a visit to the Hemp Works. Laurens is a member of the compassionate crew under Captain Paul Watson, and is sailing the seven seas battling all sorts of ocean-law violations.  

The reality show Whale Wars on discovery channel’s purpose is to increase global awareness on illegal whaling, poaching, and shark-finning, and it’s a big success so far. The Sea Shepherd goes out on adrenaline-fueled missions to stop illegal whaling ships in the Pacific Ocean, and has managed to save hundreds of whales and sharks from unfair treatment leading to death. Eco-activism at its best. Watch Laurens and the rest of the crew in Whale Wars on Animal Planet Fridays @ 9 PM…and become a fan you too!
